You can target your content using custom types provided by e-commerce plugins after your developer has set one up.
For example, you can display an announcement bar with a coupon code when customers have a specific item in their cart or make recommendations based on the item your customer is currently viewing.
- Set up an e-commerce plugin on the Integrations page, and have your developer integrate targeting attributes from your e-commerce platform.
- Within a content entry, target your entry.
for developers
Configure your site to pass the appropriate data to Builder. This step requires knowledge of your e-commerce platform and your codebase.
Your targeting won't work until completing this step because Builder can't automatically infer when an e-commerce targeting condition—for instance, when a user has added a particular item to their cart—has been met.
Visit Set up e-commerce targeting for details, and then return to this doc.
Once integrated, choose your targeting options like you would any other:
- Click the Targeting icon in the toolbar.
- Click + Add Target.
- Choose the property you'd like to target.
You will see more options available to you after integrating your e-commerce platform.
In the video below, the user selects the customerTier property and chooses to target the value of new. This property and associated values are imported from the e-commerce platform.
Keep in mind that the properties you see may be different depending on your integration and your e-commerce platform.
